Great success: First Aachen Conference on Gear Production

Successful kick-off event Aachen Conference on Gear Production

The first international Aachen Conference on Gear Production (ACGP) was held in Aachen, Germany, on November 09-10, 2022, and was organized by the FVA Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik e.V., FVA GmbH, the Machine Tool Laboratory WZL of the RWTH Aachen University, and Campus Forum.

Around 160 participants from 11 countries gathered in Aachen on both days of the conference to listen to 24 technical presentations from machine and tool manufacturers as well as practical reports from users and to discuss them together.

The spectrum of topics ranged from process design and tool design in line with requirements to the production of individual gear geometries and measures for continuous quality assurance. In addition, aspects of digitalization and improving sustainability in the production and application of gears were presented. Special praise from the participants was given to the new event location for this year’s implementation and the keynote speech by Mr. Soder, SEW-EURODRIVE, who presented his concept of Manufacturing 4.0: Manufacturing in Smart Factories of Tomorrow.

After the conference is before the forum

The Aachen Conference on Gear Production (ACGP) is the major cross-thematic gear technology conference of WZL and FVA, which is held annually in alternation with the Aachen Forum on Gear Production (AFGP) in Aachen. The forum is dedicated to a more specific facet of gear production. So in 2023, the AFGP will again be held at Aachen’s Melaten campus from November 9-10, while the big conference will again beckon in 2024. The main topic for 2023 will be announced at the beginning of the year.
